What is FAMA?
About Us
Families Against Methamphetamine Abuse (FAMA) was formed in the summer of 2004 due to the growing number of families being affected by methamphetamine in the Middle Georgia area. We are based in Houston County and serve families living in Warner Robins, Centerville, Perry, Byron, Kathleen, and other surrounding communities.
Our Mission
Families Against Methamphetamine Abuse (FAMA):
- Is committed to the education and prevention of meth abuse within our community, the Middle Georgia area, and beyond.
- Strives to assist individuals and families in understanding the danger and effects of this illegal substance.
- Assists families in their search for appropriate treatment for their loved one.
- Provides emotional support for those seeking help.
Meeting Our Mission
- FAMA is developing brochures and literature with information on methamphetamine to help educate the community.
- FAMA is also working with the area schools to bring about meth awareness.
- A support group is also available through FAMA to help those family members and abusers of methamphetamine.
- PAMA is working with organizations and political leaders to address methamphetamine.
Fund-raising within FAMA is not just limited to supporting the organizations, but also reaching a long-term goal of establishing a local treatment center for methamphetamine.
