Sheriff's deputies in Crawford County are waiting on a DEA cleanup team to arrive at the scene of a methamphetamine lab discovered off Wildwood Road this morning.

Law enforcement found the lab at about 10 a.m. in a small shop-type building behind a residence at 98 Wildwood Road, according to a sheriff's office news release.

James David Fox, 47, was arrested at the lab and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, according to officials. He remains in custody at the Crawford County jail. A preliminary court hearing is pending.

The lab was still in operation and still cooking when investigators arrived. Many of the chemicals and products used to manufacture methamphetamine at the residence will be seized as part of the ongoing investigation.

A GBI clandestine lab investigator is also on site to lead the collection of chemicals and removal of the lab.

This is the second discovery of a methamphetamine lab by the Crawford County Sheriff's Office since Sunday.
